Germany shot-stopper keeping mind firmly on his new role despite backlash from a minority of fans

Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has ignored recent protests against his signing from a minority of fans, as he targets silverware with the Bundesliga giants in the new season. The 25-year-old Germany international joined the Alianz Arena club during the summer window, but his arrival made some cause some unrest, with a small group of Bayern fans unhappy with his arrival from bitter rivals Schalke.
Bayern responded to the protests with an official statement on Thursday where they asked for the goalkeeper to be respected, and now Neuer has now reacted to recent events, insisting he is focused on the task in hand in Bavaria."I am professional footballer and I have a job to do and so it's not good to focus on trivial matters," he told Bild.
"There have been some extreme moments over the past few months, but this is just all an experience for me."
And with the protests firmly behind him, Neuer is eager to get his hands on more trophies after winning the DFB Pokal last season with Schalke.
